Imagine the vast, overwhelming scale of this universe.
And yet, within it, you are a singular and irreplaceable existence.
Even the act of imagining this
can gently lead you to love yourself a little more.
Why does loving yourself matter?
Because it is the foundation upon which others learn to love you.
I won’t offer empty or unrealistic comfort.
Loving yourself is not easy—far from it.
But we are meant to live among others,
to exist within relationships and shared spaces.
In the end, people must be able to accept you.
If you reject yourself first,
who will feel confident enough to trust and love you?
You must give them that trust.
You must show, first, that you are someone worthy of love.
And when you do,
they will come to love you—naturally, almost inevitably—
as if drawn in without resistance.
Because you have already proven it.
I wrote this while thinking of
